This project was a new construction home build, so there weren’t any existing pain points in that needed addressed like there are with home renovations. Our Designer Tiffany collaborated with the clients on a fresh, clean slate. When they first met, the clients brought the building plans with them to visualize how the space would come together and how products would be selected in relation to the other rooms in the home. They also discussed their wants, needs, and allotted budget.
They wanted to create a classic, timeless design that would age well in the master bathroom. The client wanted products that were easy to maintain, and they also wanted an easy shower entry, which is why they decided to go with a curbless entry. Curbless shower entries are easier to create on new construction builds than during home renovations. They also wanted to be sure their master bath felt luxurious all while staying within the budget allowances set by the home builder. We’d say they knocked it out of the park with this gorgeous marble mosaic detail that blends perfectly with the porcelain marble-esque tile.
The clients also wanted to add a fun design feature to their laundry room to make doing laundry a bit more exciting (see left photo above). The homeowners love blue and white, so they decided this would be a great place for an added pop of color. These colors worked with the rest of the color palette in their home, and this bold, cement-like tile was just what the laundry room needed to be spruced up.
When it came to their kitchen, the clients wanted to stick with a light and airy feel. As with the master bathroom, they wanted to stay within the allotment for their kitchen budget. To create a custom look, they used pops of marble for a focal point and blended it with a mix of ceramic and porcelain tiles to create an expensive-looking, custom design. A framed marble penny round mosaic adds a touch of class over the cooktop for the same result.
