Weekend getaway for a busy family of four.
The Design Story
This kitchen was part of an entire home remodel. When the homeowner purchased the home, the main living area and kitchen had dark pine paneling with stained oak cabinetry and tile flooring. They wanted to make the space feel as large as possible by adding pops of color in their decor and by incorporating the greens and blues from the lake out back. These elements became the focal points. The homeowners opted for a clean minimalist style, so the ceilings, walls, and trim were painted a clean, crisp white. A sleek, high-gloss white acrylic cabinetry was installed, along with fun three-dimensional wave tile backsplash. By removing the tile and carpet from the living and kitchen areas and keeping the same vinyl plank throughout the main level, we created a cohesive, more spacious indoor atmosphere.
